Analysis of the socioeconomic impact of the palm oil industry on smallholder farmers in Rumonge, Burundi
This study analysed the impact of the palm oil industry on smallholder and subsistence farmers in the Rumonge region of Burundi, the second poorest country in the world. Burundi has widespread poverty and suffers severe capacity constraints, and skill shortages brought about, in part, by ethnic civil war, political conflict and internal displacement.
The role played by the Khoe in early Cape colonial economy remains largely unaccounted for in Economic History. The two exceptions are Fourie and Green’s The missing people: accounting for the productivity of indigenous populations in Cape Colonial History (2015) and La Croix’s The Khoikhoi population, 1652-1780: a review of the evidence and two new estimates (2018).
Reaching for partnership: an intersectional study of occupational closure among women attorneys in South Africa
This research contributes to an understanding of the ways in which women attorneys experience social closure in the South African legal profession. The relevance for further research and debate is illustrated through the observed discrepancy between women’s representation during legal education and training, and their representation in the profession itself, especially at the partnership level.
Grade 10 mathematics teachers' discourses and approaches during algebraic functions lessons in Acornhoek, rural Mpumalanga Province, South Africa
The purpose of the current study was to gain insights into the mathematical discourses and approaches of Grade 10 teachers during algebraic functions lessons within rural classrooms. The study focused on five rural teachers from the Acornhoek region of Mpumalanga Province of South Africa, to investigate their classroom discourses and approaches to algebraic functions, and the factors that influence their teaching of the topic.

The African Union’s Agenda 2063 is a long-term framework for Africa to advocate for structural transformation, inclusive economic growth, and sustainable development. Under-five mortality among children Raised in non-orphaned kinship care in South Africa: a mixed-methods study
Background Non-orphaned kinship care is a family arrangement in which children are raised by relativesin the absence of their biological parents who are alive but are unable to provide parental care.
