On 30 November, Mapungubwe Institute presented a concept document to map out the NIHSS Humanities Hubs Programme. The organisation tabled a concept document to a panel of experts coming from different organisations and universities.
Amongst those in attendance included representatives from KwaZulu-Natal Arts and Culture Department, National Heritage Council, University of Venda, Unisa, Rhodes University and University of Pretoria.
The concept document idea was conceived during the first roundtable discussion held at the NIHSS in September. The aim of the Humanities Hubs Programme is to turn heritage sites into the centres of learning and research.
