The National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences as the host of the South African BRICS Think Tank (SABTT), cordially invites you to attend and participate in the BRICS Research Cluster II meeting.

24 St Andrews Road, Second floor, Parktown, Johannesburg.
The purpose of the meeting is to launch the second phase of the BRICS Research Cluster, provide information on, and insight into the BRICS Research agenda, and to expand the network of academics and researchers across the country who are working in areas aligned to the BRICS agenda. This second phase will build on the successful work of the first phase (BRICS Research Cluster I) which culminated in several research outputs, BRICS workshops, dialogues, and conferences.
The BRICS countries have pledged through the BRICS long-term research strategy to work collaboratively in the following broad research areas:
➢ Economic Growth and Development;
➢ Peace and Security;
➢ Social Justice, Sustainable Development and Quality of Life;
➢ Political and Economic Governance, and
➢ Knowledge and Innovation Sharing
It is against this background that the NIHSS is reconvening the BRICS Research Clusters II that will function as a key instrument in, among others:
➢ Forging research collaborations amongst South African academics and researchers in partnership with other BRIC academics and researchers
➢ Providing strategic research and policy advice work for the South African government in the various identified themes; and
➢ Providing a platform for dialogue on all BRICS related matters.
