South African BRICS Think Tank (SABTT) and the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD) have jointly hosted a series of dialogues. The two organisations hosted their first dialogue on 10 November. The second dialogue was held on 16 November; themed: The United States-South African Chicken War: Dumping or Protectionism? This dialogue was facilitated by Professor Margaret Lee.
The third dialogue was held at the NIHSS offices on 24 November. The discussion was themed: Re-Imagining South African Higher Education through the Lenses of the Global South and BRICS. This topic attracted a number of academics and students, who exchanged thoughts on the state of higher education. Professor Siphamandla Zondi was the guest speaker. “This country needs a true diversity of thoughts to benefit everyone. A new generation of knowledge production is required,” Prof Zondi expressed his thoughts. Meanwhile, the fourth dialogue took take place on 7 December at the Burgers Park Hotel in Pretoria.
