The NIHSS is an avid supporter of humanities hubs. We currently have a number of hubs that we fund due to their important contribution to preserving historical information or artefacts that are vital to the humanities. The newest hub in our catalogue is the Javette Art Centre at University of Pretoria. A beautiful space that is home to temporary exhibitions and permanent collections.
Our team went to visit the Art Centre to experience its beauty and wonder in person. After receiving a warm welcome the Javett team, we were given a tour of the current exhibitions and the gold collections housed there. The entire journey through the space was both educational and emotional as it gave us a true appreciation of the work being done by the centre and its staff. It was a heart-warming and pleasant surprise to be greeted by the name George Mahashe, an NIHSS alumni who’s new exhibition is currently on display at the centre.
