Hosted by the University of Johannesburg and supported by the National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS), the event showcased the
encyclopaedia’s visionary scope, its challenges, and its transformative potential.
Anchored in the lived experiences, spiritual practices, cultural realities, and intellectual contributions of African women, the symposium called for a reimagining of feminist frameworks and narratives. Under the leadership of Dr Dikeledi Mokoena, the
project leader, the event provided a vibrant platform for knowledge-sharing, critique, and collaboration,
