1. What does the celebration of Women’s Month mean to you?
The celebration of women’s month means commemorating the impactful strides of women across political, economic, and sociocultural spheres. For years, women have been subjugated and their roles subordinated. It is the women in history who were bold in challenging gender inequalities and patriarchal orthodoxies, giving women a voice in their own existence. The celebration of Women’s Month is a reminder to women and the broader society that human rights are women’s rights as well. Furthermore, this month serves as an inspiration to young women like myself to take a stance to courageously and unapologetically make a positive contribution in all spheres of society.
